“The ocean is the heart of our planet. Like your heart pumping blood to every part of your body, the ocean connects people across the Earth, no matter where we live.” Its our livelihood and our playground. It is the worlds greatest supplier of protein. It has a huge role in the carbon cycle. Whether you live near it or not, we are all connected to the sea, so please look after it. Try to use less plastic. Pick up marine litter. Be respectful. #worldoceansday
We’ve already seen our 1st moon jelly of the year at Ramsey. It seems like the plankton bloomed really early this year, followed by the jellyfish arriving, maybe as the result of a mild winter?
“I work with a marine conservation charity and Falcon Boat trips kindly offered to help me with my research. I have been on many boat trips with several suppliers and none to date have been as professional, knowledgable and conscientious as a Falcon.” Angharad Carrington-Edmunds
Seeing this review on tripadvisor last night made us so happy. Setting up the business this year was fairly daunting and we have put so much hard work into it that it is absolutely amazing to see that we are getting the message that we want to across. Conservation through education.
Adventures on Skomer today with the Porthgain Gig Rowing Club
Exploring some of the more hidden caves on Ramsey. This shot was taken inside the emerald cave where the water is illuminated and seems to glow a bright green colour.
Say no to marine litter. On Sunday, we encountered gannets fighting over this piece of net to take back and use as nesting material. Every year, a large number of gannet chicks gets trapped in the netting leading to horrible consequences such as them losing their feet due to loss of circulation. We recovered this particular piece of net but it’s such a small part of a big problem. @surfersagainstsewage

Repost from @slightly_salty_ using @RepostRegramApp – Some days are real tough. My job sucks. NAAAAT. Hanging out with common dolphin and minke whale… This calf is so young it’s still got its foetal folds. Another great day with @falcon_boats
We had such a dreamy trip this evening. The water was glassy and so, so clear, there were seals a plenty, harbour porpoise, razorbills, guillemots, kittiwake, buzzards, chough and a peregrine falcon. A perfect way to spend the evening. #AWildlifeExperience
A duckling update for you all:
The little duckling was taken up to the local vets house and put on (not in) the aga to warm up. She is doing well and will hopefully go to live with some ducking friends soon.
Thanks @ellab96 for the 📷.
