Child £25.00 – Adult £50.00, Private charter £430
Duration: 2 hours
On this trip we head out across St Brides Bay to the island of Skomer, home to 12,000 pairs of puffins. Sit in the tranquil waters of Skomer harbour watching the antics of the charismatic technicolour puffins as well as their larger cousins, the guillemots and razorbills. You will also have the opportunity to catch up with some of Ramsey Island’s seals and possibly some of our resident harbour porpoises (tide dependent), on our return from Skomer. We will take in many of the delights offered in the 1-hour trip, but the extra time allows us to catch up with the puffins as well as offering the opportunity to sit, relax and marvel in the natural beauty of our islands and the fantastic wildlife that inhabit them.
What you can expect to see?
You can expect to see large numbers of puffins as well as guillemots, razorbills and kittiwakes. There are many other resident sea birds to see such as oystercatchers, shags and cormorants to name a few.
The star of the show year round seems to be the Atlantic grey seal, for which Ramsey is one of the largest breeding colonies in the UK. We also regularly encounter our pod of harbour porpoise as they feed in the tidal waters of the Sound.
Who is the trip suitable for?
The trip is generally suitable for all ages but please feel free to contact us if you have any concerns.
