Directions

The boat trips leave from St Justinians slipway, next to the St David’s Lifeboat station.

From the centre of St David’s, turn left at the bottom of the Cross Square, travel down Goat Street past the Farmers Arms. The road takes a sharp left then a sharp right, after the St Nons Apartments turn sharp right down the hill. From here St Justinians is signposted. Proceed over the bridge and continue along this road past the Merrivale CarPark for 1.5 miles until you reach St Justinians.

The distance is approximately 2 miles but please leave yourself enough time to travel the road which is narrow with passing places – maps can be collected from the booking office and we can give you help on how best to navigate your journey if you’re not planning to drive.

Please be aware there are 64 steps down to the lifeboat station where you will board, and a further 24 steps up to the upper slipway which we use at low tide. Photos of the departure point can be seen below.

Bus Service

There is also an hourly bus service that runs from Oriel Y Parc visitor centre car park in St Davids, to St Justinians during the season.  This service is increased to every half hour during school holidays. Please check local bus schedules for exact times or call into the office so we can help you manage your journey to the meeting point accurately.

NB. The public bus does not run late enough to service the 18:00 shearwater trip. Please check seasonal times for the first bus of the day.

Free Parking

There is limited free parking at the cliff side at St Justinians; during high season there is additional field parking. The free parking is on the left hand side as you drive in and has about 20-25 car spaces – these are free and there is a disabled space, but they fill up quickly. The overflow car park is open throughout the majority of the season, it is £4 in cash (no machine, just a helpful person to guide you to a spot), if we have busy days the overflow is always open!

Please contact us to confirm travel plans – if you are travelling specifically for this trip then let us know when you make the booking so we can be sure to prioritise contacting your party if there are any scheduling changes.

St Justinians has limited facilities, so we would recommend you make any necessary pit stops in St David’s before travelling down. There is a small coffee van which is cash only and open sporadically throughout the season. Portaloos are located in the car park for your convenience.
